NINETEEN

“I’m sorry, Sir.”

It was Monday afternoon, and they had just finished the drive back. Lisa was making Sir a dirty martini, and Sir was on her couch checking his phone when he saw the message from Gwen.

“About what, Princess?” He waited to see if she was online. It was early evening, and he thought she might be in transit from work.

“About how I behaved when we met. I’m embarrassed,” she replied.

“I don’t know what you are talking about, Princess. I thought you were delightful.”

“Sir, I behaved like a little kid. I don’t even know why. I just went to this strange place, and now thinking back, I don’t know why that happened. I’m a grown-ass woman, Sir.”

Sir smiled and then took a deep breath. “I think you have some little in you, my dear.”

“What does that mean?” she asked.

Lisa handed Sir his cocktail and he took a sip. “It’s perfect, my love. Thank you. I’m dealing with a thing here, I hope you don’t mind,” he said.

“Oh no, Sir,” Lisa replied. “I need to go unpack anyway, and I think I’ll take a shower.”

“Okay, thanks. Hopefully this won’t take too long.”

“Is it work?” Lisa asked.

“No, it’s my Princess. She’s having an existential crisis, I think.”

Lisa laughed. “Oh. Good luck with that,” she said, smiling.

“Sorry,” Sir texted Gwen. “Interrupted. I’m back now. So are you familiar with DDlg?” he wrote.

“No, Sir. What’s that?”

“Daddy Dom / Little Girl. It’s a particular kind of a D/s relationship.”

“Okay…” she replied.

“Like everything in kink, it’s confusing. There are actually two different things. There is ‘age play’ where one of the people pretends to be a kid. Sir smiled. “Yes, those. Anyway, the labels probably don’t matter all that much. But my point is that there are a lot of kink variations in which one of the partners takes on a more child-like role. The important thing is that you do what makes you happy. And you be true to what you feel.”

“I feel like I was being ridiculous,” she said.

“Well you feel that now. But how did you feel in the moment? Were you happy?”

“Oh, yes. It felt very natural. I was having a lot of fun.”

“Then you probably should not judge yourself, Princess. I thought you were just delightful. Perhaps you were more comfortable letting your little girl out, because you trust me. Maybe that’s a new level of trust for you.”

“Maybe Sir. Tell me more about DDlg. How is that different from what we do?”

“Well often the dominant is called Daddy.”

“Ew, Sir. I don’t like that. It sounds like incest.”

“Yeah, I get that. I kind of feel the same way. I think maybe it’s a regional thing, because in some parts of the country a lot of women call their husbands ‘daddy.
